JoyRx Expands the Meaning of Wellness

JoyRx Music, JoyRx Mentorship, and JoyRx Nature programs create feel-good moments for children and help shift their moods to relieve the sadness, anxiety, and isolation they may experience during lengthy treatments and hospital stays. JoyRx is helping transform the pediatric healthcare experience and bringing joy to the fight against childhood cancer.

JoyRx Music

JoyRx Music is one of the most time-tested music medicine programs for hospitalized kids. The program tackles wellness using a three-pronged approach. 

• Live: Highly personalized, in-person music medicine experience
• Digital-Live: Highly personalized, live music medicine experience via streaming 
• On-Demand: Interactive music experience featuring highly curated content, available 24/7 at JoyRxMusic.org

JoyRx Mentorship

JoyRx is a mentorship program that matches kids diagnosed with cancer or other serious illnesses with caring adults who can provide support and encouragement. Since 1999, JoyRx has helped over 1,500 youth find a mentor who can offer a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a sense of normalcy during a difficult time.

Mentors in the JoyRx program come from all walks of life. They commit to spending six to eight hours per month with their mentee for a minimum of one year, providing the stability and consistency that is so important for these children.

JoyRx Nature

Since 2006, JoyRx Nature has offered free-of-charge retreats at the secluded Alexandra Ellis Caring Cabin® in Pacific City, Oregon and has welcomed more than 500 families to relax and enjoy the surrounding area.
