The Apple faithful have cause to rejoice. The company has expanded its wireless printing utility AirPrint to include a great number of printers. As PCMag reported last month, “only a handful of HP printers were supported” when Apple released its iOS upgrade in late 2010. AirPrint allows users to print from an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to a compatible printer on a shared home Wi-Fi network.

This is great news, especially, for an increasingly mobile workforce. Users can now send important documents to the company's printer no matter where they are. AirPrint is simple to use and does not require special applications or software. iPhones must be a 3GS or later model, and the iPod Touch must be third generation or later.

Apple expanded its AirPrint compatible multifunction printers to include many from Pacific Office Automation's trusted manufacturers, including:

AirPrint allows printing documents from Apple's iPhoto, Safari, Mail, Office documents, e-mail and a number of third-party apps. PCMag regales it as the “simplest and most reliable choice” compared with printing software installed on the network or third-party printing applications.

At Pacific Office Automation, we provide custom solutions to improve workflow. Many of our customers conduct business outside the office, whether from their smartphone or tablet computer, and they need solutions to keep workflow processes humming along no matter where their team is located. We also offer a number of desktop apps that allow our customers remote records management capabilities and remote document distribution. Workers in-house can send important documents from an office printer directly to a mobile device so workflow processes remain intact when employees are not in the office.
