It seems like just yesterday we were looking ahead to 2017 and kicking off the year’s theme: “Be Legendary.” And now, here we are wrapping up the year! Let’s take a look back at some of our favorite moments.
To kick off our Legendary year, we planned a project to give back to our local youth in the Portland area. At our final meeting of 2016, 100 managers broke out into 8 teams for what they expected was a simple team-building exercise of putting bikes together. What they didn’t know was that 21 kids would be receiving these bikes at the end of the day.
This bike building project was the first of many exciting events in our Be Legendary campaign. We challenged all employees to find ways to become superheroes in their communities, and they didn’t disappoint.
Fast forward to the spring when our President, Doug Pitassi, accepted the award from the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) on behalf of Pacific Office Automation. The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) nominated POA for this award for outstanding service to our local high schools.
Over the years, we’ve been proud to support our local schools by donating copiers, funding websites for schools and leagues, and offering professional services like printing event programs and materials. We’re honored to be recognized for our efforts in philanthropy, which has always been a cornerstone in our mission.
This past fall, we celebrated the opening of our new Salem, OR location. We spent a year renovating the beautiful, historical building in the heart of Oregon's capital, and we are excited to be settling into this space. We’re headquartered just north of Salem in Portland, so we’re honored to play a part in the city’s revitalization.
Our Salem expansion is just the first of many growth efforts that will be continuing in 2018. We’re pretty proud of our efforts in giving back this year, but we hope to be involved with even more community events in 2018. Of course, we wouldn’t be able to do this without our dedicated and engaged employees.
