Over the past few months, we’ve settled in nicely into our new digs in Southern Idaho. We now have four branches in the area from Boise to Idaho Falls; continue reading for a few of our favorite sights and activities over in the Gem State.
Many of our employees enjoy getting outdoors and being active on their days off. This time of year, you can find them up on slopes, skiing, snowboarding, or simply enjoying the winter conditions. Luckily, Southern Idaho is home to several top-notch ski and snowboard areas as well as luxurious mountain resorts.
Sun Valley Resort is centrally located between all four of our Idaho branches – just a 2-3 hours’ drive to the mountain depending on the starting point. An hour and a half southeast of our Burley branch lies Magic Mountain Resort near Twin Falls, another winter sports haven for all ages.
Not into the cold and would rather stay indoors? Southern Idaho, Boise especially, boasts a large arts scene featuring museums and performing arts. Our Boise teams have enjoyed exploring the local Boise Art Museum and brushing up on history at the Idaho Anne Frank Human Rights Memorial and Idaho Historical Museum.
On a weekend, you might find some of our employees taking in a show from one of Boise’s many theaters around the city.
A majority of POA employees, not just those in Idaho, love to get out into nature on weekends, whether via heart-pounding hike or leisurely nature walk. Near Pocatello, Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve offers a look at historic volcanic activity and lava flows. Here, visitors can snowshoe in winter and hike various trails in warmer months.
Closer to Twin Falls lies Shoshone Falls along the Snake River. This “Niagara of the West” measures in higher than Niagara Falls at 212 feet and is a great spot for picnics, kayaks, and hikes. Ask any POA employee who has been there, and they’ll tell you it’s worth the trip.
As Boise and the rest of Southern Idaho continue to expand rapidly, we’ll be continuing to grow our teams at each of our four Idaho branches.
