Our Favorite Blazers Moments of 2015

January 19, 2016

You may know that we’re pretty big sports fans at Pacific Office Automation. As one of the Portland Trail Blazers’ corporate sponsors, Pacific Office is one of the team's biggest fans. Now that the 2015-2016 season has reached its midpoint, we’re taking a look back at our favorite moments from the Blazers' season so far:

  1. Kicking things off right: The Blazers had a huge opening night back in October against the New Orleans Pelicans, racking up a whopping 43 points in the first quarter and leading by as much as 30 at one point. The Blazers won 112-94, making it their 15th consecutive opening night victory — an NBA record. It was a much-needed confidence boost after losing four of five starters in the off-season. Also, let's not forget Damian Lillard's opening remarks that night thanking Blazers fans for being the best in the NBA.
  2. Allen Crabbe's coming-out party: Backup point guard Allen Crabbe came up huge for the Blazers on Dec. 26, scoring a career-high 26 points, including four three-pointers, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Blazers dominated Lebron James and the Cavs with a 105-76 rout, and proved they can win even without superstar Lillard, who was out with an injury.
  3. McCollum proves his worth: New Blazer, C.J. McCollum, went nuts against the Sacramento Kings on Dec. 27, racking up 35 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Three days later, he went head-to-head with former Blazer Will Barton, scoring 29 points and handing the Denver Nuggets a 110-103 loss.
  4. One for the records: Damian Lillard scored 40 points and had 10 assists against the defending champs Golden State Warriors. Despite losing to the Warriors', Lillard became the first Blazer to score 40 points at Portland's Moda Center. The last Blazer to hit 40 at home was Clyde Drexler, back when the team played at the Memorial Coliseum. It was the fourth time that Lillard had scored 40 points in a game, but to have him do at his home court was a thrilling fan experience.
  5. Lillard rains down on the Thunder: The Blazers' Jan. 10 home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder was an incredible come-from-behind win. Down by 8 with 3 minutes to go, Damian Lillard scored an eye-popping 17 points (31 total for the game) to beat the Thunder 115-110. Six of the Blazers scored in double figures, and the team also out-rebounded the Thunder 52-42.

The Pacific Office team is lucky to have seen so many great Blazer moments this season. We support and sponsor the team not just because we love basketball, but because we believe in the powerful impact sports teams have on their communities. Sports bring us together. We remember where we were when we heard the news of Blazer great Jerome Kersey's death in early 2015 and get chills each time we re-watch Damian Lillard's buzzer-beating 3-pointer to beat the Rockets in last year's playoffs.

Investing in the communities where we do business makes for better places to live and work. We also sponsor Portland's hockey team, the Winterhawks, and regularly sponsor golf tournaments to thank customers and raise money for nonprofits.
